Why ended up as an lecturer rather than an engineer?

Posted: 10/03/2011 in Generals, Hot Stufs!!

hm..ni pon fakta yg menghairankan jugak ni kan??…kalo tgk2 kt lecturers list, majority sumenye engrg grad overseas..

name pon oversea, mesti bayar tuition fees etc mahal2 kan???..tu baru sembang degree..belum sembang sambung master & phd..

so dah bayaq mahai2, mestilah beranggapan, blk mlesia, mestilah living the dream becoming an engineer..kan??ye lah da mahal2, mestilah keje pon mesti yg ekslusif2 punyeeee..

tapi ni idak, terus jadi lecturer..so kenape haaa deorg cmtu2??xrase rugi duit ke??

so bende yg tersimpul utk aku jdkan kesimpulan, sbb2nye maybe cm gini :

1. eleh engineer, kalo engr biase je, bukan mau pon gaji besar2..keje letih, gaji xbesar..

2. dari aku hadap cmtu, baik aku jadi lecturer ipts..lagi best..keje rilek..gaji rm5k sng2 je..nak kisahkan ape lg??

hm..ni yg aku rase lah..korang rase cmne pule??knape grads brabes nak ratus2 kilos of RM utk jadi lecturer & bukan masuk ke dlm industry & jadi engr???

Why lah?

nota kaki cekam : hmmm..kenape3!!!..smpai skang jenuh berspekulasi pasal bende ni????

    Tumpang lalu ^_^

As an aspiring lecturer, I’m very clear of why I’d wan’t to become one. To me, jadi lecturer in engineering field (IMHO laa..) is somewhat more important than becoming an engineer itself, coz certain ways, you’re like the ‘father/mother’ of many future engineers!

Mana tak nye, lecturers laa yg akn shape up those future engineers, groom them to become excellent, competent, and most important of all, ethical engineers. Tu satu tanggungjawab yg sgt besar, lebih besar kot compared to engineers ..Sbb kene ajar elok2 AND at the same time jadi role model yg baik sbb smua bende yg kita buat, ank2 didik akn tgk/jdkn panduan. And yg paling penting, ianya salah satu ‘investment’ akhirat coz among the things yg akn kita bw ke kubur nnt is ILMU bermanfaat yg disebarkan kpd org lain..

just imagine, kita mati dah lama, tp as long as ank2 didk kita amalkn/ajar org lain apa yg BAIK & B’MANFAAT yg pernah kita ajar, as long as that, pahala keeps pouring in. Engineers yg bagus pun (bina facilities, cutting edge inventions, groundbreaking ideas etc), if bkn lecturer2 diorg yg ajar dulu, takkan dapat jd engineers pon in the first place

-heartfelt thanks to lecturers who taught me, else I won’t be who I am today 🙂 –

So, in no way had I ever thought that becoming a lecturer is ‘the easy way out’, you see..Coz the responsibility is much bigger. And one more thing, lecturers kene ada PhD. Bkn semua org boleh sampai tahap tu. Ramai je yg PhD x abes2, kantoi tgh jln, etc2. So jiwa mau kental laa, hehehe..

It’s not really the money..Gaji tak sebanyak engineers yg bukak consultation firms/keje dgn MNC etc pon.. Nak dapat jd lecturer pon susah (kene ada PhD, if xde lg pon, kene sambung gak mcm mana pon). My sis & bro are engineers dgn MNC, umur baru 35 gaji 15-16K, if lecturing nak dpt gaji cam tu, tunggu jadi Prof pun blum tentu dpt byk tu (cuba la tgk lecturers umur bape baru dpt jd Prof! tu pun bkn smua lecturers boleh smpai tahap tu)

Keje senang? Apenye, nak mangadap bdak2 engineering yg byk cekadak (including me masa jd student dulu,ekeke..), marking paper, research, buat journal, masuk exhibition, gi conference sana sini (penat woo..) etc2..

It’s not the money..tak berbaloi pun rasanya..it’s the satisfaction you’ll get kot coz u know u’ve played your part in building a better nation, and buat investment akhirat at the same time, InsyaAllah. Pastu bila tgk students kita amek scroll time konvo, dpt tau diorg keje as engineers/sambung study/jd lecturer kat mana2..time tu kot we’ll feel the satisfaction the most..wallahua’lam

    All the best to you!
